I’ve been looking to figure out why both Richwine’s paper and the arguments Andrew Sullivan use to defend the data bother me. This piece captures it — mostly. Sullivan quoted from the piece but hasn’t responded, yet, to what I see as the most damning part of it: how to defend this type of work when it’s so connected to actual rascists.

The only one I could identify off the top of my head was Juan de Pareja (gentleman in the brown doublet and white collar). I read his biography when I was a kid. He was a slave and then a freedman of European painter Diego Velasquez and a skilled artist in his own right.
Black folks in historical paintings from Europe! Shut up! Beautiful.

So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. Wow, some people are just too stupid for words. My first thoughts were why go through that if you’re healthy. But I realized she weighed her options and percentages of it happening in her life due to genetics. That’s not stupid that’s fuckin brave. If she chooses too she can have implants and good plastic surgery, but that’s if she chooses too for herself. As far as the Brad comment, If he loves her he would have agreed with her on her choice. I had a friend who went through that and I saw with my own eyes how much of a rough decision and journey that is to make. I’ve had family members die of cancer. I am sure if they had the option of knowing before hand they would have done the same.
But the main point is, women are more than tits and ass and whatever else their body has. It’s sad these ignorant ass comments are coming from adults.
I hope they all die. Every last one of them. And I hope Angie shits on their graves.
